We've been in the DC area for a few days now, and it's been pretty good so far. Patrick is absolutely in love with the city already, and I'm feeling less homesick. We're staying with a friend of Patrick's from high school who lives in Arlington, VA. We've taken the metro to our new place, which will be a fine place to live for the next year or so. The neighborhood isn't as cute as some, but we'll be saving money to hopefully buy our own place in the next couple years. Living out of suitcases gets old pretty quick - I'm definitely the kind of person who likes feeling settled. Patrick and I both know a number of people in the area, so we've spent the last few days hanging out with friends and running errands. I'm really looking forward to getting our new apartment set up and feeling like I have an actual home. Right now I still feel like this is a vacation, and we'll be heading back to St Louis at some point.
Patrick, Molly, and I have arrived in the DC area, and are staying with a friend until our stuff gets here (not until next Thursday!). Today we're checking out our new apartment. I'll write more later!
Molly has discovered how to blow "raspberries," so she does it all the time now. It's awfully cute, but also produces massive amounts of drool (which makes for a damp baby and mommy). On the sleep front, Molly has regressed a bit. She's been waking up every two to two and a half hours for the past week or so. I'm hoping it's a growth spurt or something, and that she'll soon be back to sleeping three or more hours at a time.
Sometimes a girl just needs to let it out, right?
Molly does a lot of "talking" these days - sometimes very loud talking! Today I captured some soft cooing. I wonder what she was trying to say?
We've been trying (until now, unsuccessfully) to upload video of Molly - hopefully, this time will work!
The past couple of nights have seen some progress on the sleep front. We've been trying to transition Molly back to her crib without being swaddled (she's been sleeping with us), and last night she finally slept for over two consecutive hours at at time (12-2:30, then 3-5:45)! Hopefully she will continue to progress. There's been lots of rain here lately, which brought some cooler weather; yesterday Molly and Daddy enjoyed some time on the back porch.
