As part of my ongoing preparations for TOSRV, I wanted to get in another metric century. I have a rout I like that takes me out to Batavia, then to New Richmond. Out of the box, it's about 55 miles. Add a lap of Lunken, and I'm at around 62.
However, on a beautiful day, with temperatures in the 70s, I just didn't want to go in. Another lap of Lunken, and a bit extra, and I get 70. If I didn't have to get my daughter to a swimming lesson, I might have done a full century.
(The map to the right shows the approximate location of the pictures I Voxed throughout the day. Click to enlarge, of course).
It's been a while since I've been able to do a ride in just a jersey in shorts. I forgot about what you have to do there (i.e. put on sunscreen). I have several parts that are red.
It is nice to take time off of work to go ride. It makes it feel like that much more of a treat.
I went somewhat easy, not wanting to hammer myself into the ground. There was a good wind from the North that I had to work against. Though the ride was mostly flat, though I did have a few climbs to contend with.
Overall, a great day for a ride!
