Eddy hates the vet.
He's a sweet cat to everyone he meets, so long as its not the vet.
Today, we went in, and he growled almost the entire time. They were mildly backed up, so by the time we got to the examination room, he was too far gone. The vet asked me to reschedule.
He growled the entire time we were at the desk for the reschedule.
We walk out of the vet, and, literally as we hit the street, he calmed down. We walk in the house, and it's sweet old Eddy the Barn Cat.
As you can see, he crawled up on my leg for some petting.
One site has declared today, September 9, 2009, a "Day Without Cats" on the Internet. They describe this as a ban. Cute Overload has proven to be a traitor, joining this ban. NPR has as well--surprising, as I didn't think they would want to mess up their next fund drive.
I personally will not stand for this. I will not give into these demands (besides, without cats, the Internet may implode!). So, expect lots of cat posts with cat pictures today. In honor of Bokeh Wednesday, I present Maggie and Eddy.
Trying to get back in the bokeh habit. As is often the case, Eddy is my model.
Oops...I'm a day early.
When monsters have nightmares, they are being chased by a barn cat. At least, that's what I tell my daughter when she complains the can't go to bed, as she's worried about monsters. Eddy is always worried about his girl, and hangs out by her door until she is asleep. Tonight, he inspected her bed to make sure it was monster-free.
What to mommy and daddy monsters do when baby monsters say they are afraid of barn cats? Set a vacuum outside their door.
What were your first words? If you have children, what were their first words?
I don't know what my first words were...I'll have to ask Mama Guilt.
One day, when she was about 9-10 months old, we spent a weekend visiting my in-laws in Indianapolis. If we saw a cat, she would light up. Once, she was getting upset at the grocery store, so I took her down a pet food aisle to cheer her up.
When we got home, my wife was carrying my daughter. As we stepped in, I scooped up Eddy (to prevent him from running out), and showed him to my daughter.
"Ed-dy-dy-dy-dy!"
Eddy's name was my daughter's first work.
