A doe and two of her kids came and visited us this afternoon. There are lots of deer in the neighborhood.
1998 was a busy year for us--lots of big, happy things in our life. So, this year we are celebrating several ten year anniversaries.
Ten years ago today, we bought our house. I believe this is the place I've lived the longest.
We mostly overcame our logistical challenges, and made a return visit to IKEA. Buying a sofa, or any piece of furniture of that size/degree of niceness, is something I usually associate with showrooms. You pick the piece based on a sample, then, a few days later, a piece shows up on your doorstep.

A view on my near-vertical backyard. Yes there is a screen. No, there is no way I'm opening the door right now. You can get a sense of the snow we've gotten. It's a lot for Cincinnati. People in Minnesota, please don't laugh at us.
Cincinnati is a bit odd. We get enough snow to own things like snow shovels and sleds, but it doesn't take much for all of us to freak. We got about two inches in my area overnight, plus freezing rain and sleet.
My daughter got her first snow day (which was actually fair--the roads were iffy first thing, and she is only in half-days. My wife and I stayed home to double-team her (I swear three-year-olds are nuclear powered). Here are some pics from my street:
