The tavern adjacent to my office, The In-Between, converted a parking lot into overflow capacity for opening day. Lots of people drinking beer. Me...with e-mail.
At 8 AM, the roof of the adjacent building was clear. Now, it's covered in snow. I'm glad I took the bus so I don't have to directly deal with it, though even that may get icky. I'm going to keep my eye on the situation. I suppose I could always walk the five miles home, if need be.
It may be hard to tell from this picture, but we're getting a fairly bright sun along with a snow flurry (explaining the somewhat obscured Big Mac bridge). Wierd.
Cincinnati got its first snowfall of the season last night. Downtown, it didn't amount to much. In fact, it seems just warm enough for snow to be slippery on sidewalks. However, schools seem to be closed, and the office sounds relatively empty.
I also saw another Cincinnati sign of snow: the bus was full. There are people in Cincinnati who would not be caught dead on the bus normally, but during a snowfall they view it as their savior. It wouldn't bug me, except that there is so much goodness to the bus overall, and they are proving they can manage on the bus. Plus, all the seats are taken, leaving me to stand.
My guess is that the snow will be gone by the weekend. I should be able to get back out on the road again!

I had a meeting in a conference room with a slightly different view than my desk, and snapped a picture of the Roebling Suspension Bridge. This has been described as the "prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge," but is a great structure in its own right.
